As the title says V4 just suddenly crashes without any warning, the sim freezes up for 20 seconds although it sounds like it is still working as when I press 'S' the sound changes as I change between views. However the sim crashes just 20 seconds later no indication, I looked at Event Viewer and there are no errors there what so ever. You´re not alone. For almost two months now (it seems after upgrading to P3Dv4.4 from v4.3), I started to suffer from this kind of crashes, almost every time P3D closes down after a flight session, as checked with the App Crash Viewer in Windows 7.

I have had this issue off and on since purchasing version 4.5 two weeks ago. It starts whenever I change the graphics settings under options world. After changing the sliders I can click ok to get back to the main screen, but after I click ok to start a scenario the simulator starts the next screen but the popup showing the load progress doesn't come up and the simulator crashes back to windows 10. Event viewer shows the following two errors:

I am running the latest video drivers from Nvidia released on 5/2/2019. I have tried repairing the client but get the same issue. Is there any way I could get a copy of P3D V4.4 to run until such time as they get V4.5 fixed?

V4 Crashing Minecraft

Reinstalling the simulator fixed this issue in the past, that is until I try adjusting the scenery settings which starts the issue all over again.

I am in the process of moving my home, so support is on hold until the new „SODE office“ is set up again. Hopefully things get up and running again by end of the first week of February.

Take care,

V4 Crashing For Pc

  • Hello,
i have an issue with SODE 1.5.3 (is the second time with the same issue):
after some days after installing SODE, P3Dv4 CTD during startup. Removing or disabling all add-on and enabling one for time i found that problem is SODE: with all add-on enabled and SODE deactivated or unistalled P3Dv4 can startup and work fine. checked everythinks: un-istalled and re-installed SODE, P3D Client but nothing… P3D doesn’ work with SODE ! The first time that i had the problem i solved through re-installing completely P3Dv4 via fresh installation but after 20/30 days i’m here…

    PS: i dont have GSX…

    Thanks,
    Paul

    after P3D crash…

my simconnect with SODE de-activated is attached because is too long.

    thanks in advance,
    Paul

    Hello Paul,

Well, while your fix will load SODE it doesn’t cure the real problem. What you are doing here is trying to load a 32-bit dll into a 64-bit Prepar3D, which will be of course rejected. The dll will not be loaded and the sim starts up without it. SODE jetways will not work, because they need that dll for animation.

I see you have the orbx object flow 2 beta installed. Did that one cause a CTD once in the past? I only read in their forums that it was not very stable in the beginning and caused many crashes. The problem here is that when the sim crashes, it sometimes cannot properly clean-up/shut-down other loaded dlls, for example SODE’s dll. Windows has this speciality that it may flag incorrectly shutdown dlls as incompatible. The dll itself does not even has to be the root cause. The details on why Windows flags dll this way is not really documented, which makes troubleshooting difficult.

This flag in turn can lead to CTD with the sim during start-up due to this incompatibility setting and I guess this is what is the cause. The funny thing is that during start-up of the sim, SODE’s dll does not do anything productive.

I need you to do the following things, please:

    1. Open regedit
    2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionAppCompatFlagsLayers
    3. Make a screenshot of regedit showing the entries
    4. Upload here in the forum

I’m pretty sure there is an entry for Prepar3D.exe V4 in relation with IgnoreFreeLibrary<SimObjectAnimationModule64.dll>…
When you edit the key and remove that part of the string or even entirely delete the key, then P3Dv4 will start up fine the next time you launch it.

Thanks very much for your screenshots.

I have added the auto-fixing of that flag into the next PlatformManager version. Everytime you run the PlatformManager, it will look for that entry and will remove it when found.
