I'm not saying Hedgehog Heaven didn't have flaws, though. Unfortunately, I thought the second half of Cavern Escape and the ending to Oil Spill didn't suit the zone's environment or eariler parts of said tracks.

Countless times I've listened to most of the tracks on this album. Before Project Chaos was released, I'd spend countless hours listening to the tracks related to the 11 zones. My three favorite tracks are:

I. Bring in the Machine

II. Travelling Through a Dream

III. Apocalyptic Orbital Ovum

Do any of you think Sega should've finished Hidden Palace, Wood, Dust Hill, and Genocide City zones before releasing Sonic 2?

I was a bit irked when I found out that the album had no end credits medley like in the game. I went ahead and made one using the remixes from the album and a little bit of my own stuff:

Haha I actually enjoyed listening to this a bunch.

More games should end with Super Megamixes like this.

Yeah, I think the biggest thing to take away from this album is that too much techno is not a good thing. This is a great album, except for 'Sonikku, Ganbatte!' by mario and 'Super Sonic Ska' by Blak Omen. Too many sound effects and both of them sound like they were simply ripped from the game and then spruced up a bit. My favorites are 'High Above the Sky' and 'Is This the End?' 'Bring in the Machine' could have been so much better with a guitar.

Over all: Project Chaos Hedgehog Heaven. .

Hey, anyone remember back, before the project was released, a poll that was on the Hedgehog Heaven website? It was a poll on which of the three Robotnik remixes would be on the album and Robeatnik's Theme won. Does anyone have links to the other two remixes that were in that poll?

I think the other two were Joker's 'Flesh and Steel' and one by a guy named Golden Tears (using an odd font). I have Joker's 'Flesh and Steel', but I can't give it to you until Friday...unless someone else does it first.

JAZZ FLUTE!! Ron Burgundy, eat your heart out... Leandro Abreu (guitars, bass), with Abreu Project band members Gustavo Surniche (drums) & Leandro 'Skald' Jácome (flute) put together a short-but-swingin' jazz arrangement of 'Casino Night Zone' from Sonic 2. Liontamer writes:

'I didn't dislike this theme as a kid, but 'Casino Night Zone' was one of my lower tier of themes in Sonic 2. (I'm more of an 'Aquatic Ruin' guy myself.) That said, I was pleasantly surprised by the Leandros and Gustavo giving this a perfect jazz club performance spin. Excellent comping from 1:06 until the end, and, in particular, Skald on the flute at 2:00 was a thing of beauty. It's safe to say 'Abreu Project' is a seal of excellence. :-)'

Ditto that; it's a fun enough arrangement, but the highlight is definitely the soloing, and some of those flute runs are simply delicious. Emunator adds:

'I want to go to whatever bar has THIS playing tonight! This short-and-sweet jam from Leandro establishes the recognizable Casino Night Zone groove early on and then rides out the rest of the track with some kickass back-and-forth soloing. That flute solo came out of nowhere at the end but I was grinning ear-to-ear when that came in. Much of this song is taken up with original soloing but the chord progression and bassline is never lost, making this instantly recognizable. Everything is tied together with some crunchy production work befitting of a live tavern jam - pour me another!'

Couldn't have said it better myself, so I won't: great stuff in the tradition of Abreu's other ReMixers which adds some very flowery, spiraling jazz flute into the mix for a sweet treat that's hard to beat!
